It's difficult to stand out in the sea of games(opens new tab) available. Everyone wants your attention and if a game doesn't belong to an established series, or doesn't do something that a screenshot or trailer can capture, it can be difficult for them to stand out.
These are the PC games that deserve a bigger presence, regardless of whether they do something unique or simply because they excel at what they do. Some games weren't released at the right moment, were overshadowed or took some time to get started.
Here's a list with five of our favorite games from the past five years. You can still play each of them today, so you can help them get the recognition that they deserve.
Hunt: Showdown
Price: $39.99
What is it? It is a PvPvE extraction gun set in the 19th Century Bayou.
After battle royale, Hunt: Showdown (opens in a new tab) Twelve players battle it out on large maps, racing to find boss enemies and fighting for the bounty tokens left behind. Crytek is a futuristic shooter that has three Crysis games under its belt. It's amazing to see how Crytek managed to create such a rewarding game with guns straight from western films and Civil War documentaries. It is the most innovative, intense, and competitive FPS available on Steam at the moment, yet it only has around 17,000 players per day on PC. Hunt should explode, but I kind of hope it doesn’t (opens in new window). - Morgan Park, Staff Writer

Price is actually free
What is it? This is a great co-op campaign that focuses on escaping from a castle full puzzles.
The whole We Were Here series is a great co-op game(opens in new window) and the first one you can download is absolutely free. Castle Rock has a lot of mind-boggling escape room puzzles. Being required to use a walkie-talkie in order to exchange clues with others is a friendship-testing way to play puzzling. If you are looking for co-op games, You'll find We Were Here. They've done enough to make four of them. However, they're not as well-known as they should be. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find genuine co-op campaigns, not live service, these days. If you enjoyed Man of Medan or It Takes Two, this should be on your next list. - Lauren Morton, Associate Editor

KeyWe
Price: $24.99
What is it? It's a frantic cooperative game in which you and your bird friend try to send mail.
It is surprising that KeyWe has not caught on. Everybody loves the chaos of trying different dishes in Overcooked. But, sending mail as a Kiwi bird was not enough. It's easy to grab this game and play it with a friend. You will be hopping around in a room to complete tasks. Avoid obstacles like malicious vines, which can swipe your typewriter keys while you attempt to write an address. You can earn more currency if you finish the level in the given time. This includes cosmetic unlockables like aviator glasses or a suit of armour.
